Curious to know what everyone thinks of the approach Netflix took with the Gunfight?

Absolutely horrible. I watched the whole thing and was very disappointed. MM

I could not get past the second episode.

It was so full of historical inaccuracies, and many of them introduced for no apparent reason.

The Benson Stage Coach robbery taking place in broad daylight.

It being portrayed as a running gun battle.

The Coach turning over and Bud Philpot being thrown from it to his (apparent) death.

Behan telling the errand boy to go give the case to the Earps.

Wyatt tracking down the Coach robber by himself.

Ike Clanton being portrayed as some sort of early day Al Capone.

No mention of Curly Bill or Johnny Ringo.

Billy Clanton being played by a thirty-something short actor with a grizzly beard.

Morgan Earp being played by some actor in a grizzly beard.

And that's just the first episode!

In the second episode, which dealt primarily with the gunfight, they make the location look like the inside of an actual corral with stalls and horses in the background.

Billy doesn't collapse against the Harwood house, in fact, no Harwood house at all!

That's when I gave up.

I worked in the entertainment industry for thirty years, I know how shows are produced.

I understand in a two-hour movie you can't cram every bit of history in. But this was a six part mini series. They had plenty of time to get it right. Especially since it was advertised as a docudrama.

They had plenty of time to show nearly every aspect of the incident including background and aftermath.

They didn't come close.

Spoiler alert: Curly Bill does get a mention in the series -- as a lieutenant of Ike Clanton.

Well, like I said, I quit after the second episode.
